The wines of the former Yugoslavia tend to get lumped in with the rest of the old Eastern Bloc as bargain basement fodder. In fact, the best wines of Slovenia and Croatia are capable of much more than that. This rich, honeyed but graceful white is a case in point. With its elegant, dancing acidity, it's a dry riesling to match many form Alsace or Germany's Pflaz region.
