Jascots wine training courses are designed to be fun and engaging, delivered by professionals, it's proven to help your business do more wine business. So how do we do it?...

Step 1 - Apply for the complete course or a specified module

Step 2 - Training Needs Analysis and Course Design

Raul Diaz, Jascots Head Sommelier and Head of Training will visit your establishment to have first contact, watch your operation in action and establish your training needs.  From this first meeting we will design bespoke wine training based on your priorities, objectives and desired outcomes.

Step 3 - Training Delivery

Training will be delivered on a date and time of your choosing at your premises.  Each training module will last up to 1 hour and 30 minutes and will focus on a very practical approach to wine and service using efficient techniques. We will taste wines from your own list ensuring product relevance.  Modules 2 and 3 include a recap of previous modules if required.  At the conclusion of the training there will be a short written and/or practical assessment and the opportunity for immediate manager and staff feedback.  

Step 4 - Follow-up

For a month after the course your trainer will be available on the telephone or by email for anyone who attended the course for any further help, questions or guidance.

Step 5 - Final Validation

Finally, approximately 6 weeks after your training Raul will visit you, watch your staff in action and chat with you to find out the real impact on sales, service and your staffs' product knowledge and confidence.  Not only does this provide us with invaluable feed back but gives you the chance to discuss the any needs for further training.

Who Trains You?

All training is either conducted or supervised by our Head Sommelier and Head of Training - Raul Diaz.

After completing a law degree in his home country of Chile, Raul decided to travel the world to follow an old and personal passion for wine.

He studied hard; realising to that to make serious progress in his chosen career it would take application and commitment.  He started as a sommelier in one of the best Hotels in Buenos Aires at Bobo, a niche boutique hotel.  Next he was able to secure a fantastic opportunity to sail the globe for five years with the luxury cruise line Cunard.  There he gained his WSET qualifications, learned the very highest standards of service and was privileged to meet many of the worlds' most illustrious winemakers including France, Italy, Spain and Portugal. Since settling in the UK, he has been sommelier in Michelin starred restaurants working alongside Michel Roux Jr. and Gary Rhodes.  

After more than 10 years serving and selling wine, Raul has now started a new challenge, leading the development and delivery of our Customer Wine Training.  

His goal is help your staff to develop practical skills and wine knowledge. At the end of the training they will feel that is possible to achieve high service standards and solid wine expertise.

The trained staff will be capable to maintain a smooth service, discipline, attention to detail, professionalism, and excellent communication skills, even under pressure.

And even become team-workers that like to motivate others.
