Aÿ for Pinot Noir
Aÿ, where fine growers like Roger Brun and Henri Goutorbe are based, is a rich source of top Pi not Noir and another grower-producer who makes the classic Aÿ blend -three-quarters Pi not Noir, one quarter Chardonnay- is Andre Roger. With 5.5ha of mainly grand cru vineyard at the estate's disposal, Brut Tradition Grand Cru is made using all Aÿ fruit, and has an attractive spicy freshness and appealing fruit richness.
Roger's Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru is pure Aÿ Pinot Noir and shows some exotic fruit character with a hint of honeyed richness.
