David Round, Master of Wine and formerly of St. James’s posh Berry Bros and Rudd, not-so-posh H&H Bancroft and Laithwaites, joined Jascots in November 2009. Like the Trident Sub David immediately strikes you as being quiet but unexpectedly powerful.
David has immediately set about imposing strict discipline on purchasing, drilling down prices, stats and yields and ‘stress-testing’ every single one of our lines.
Very happily, the vast majority of our wines have passed muster and now it’s a question not so much of making changes, but, massively increasing the number of lines that we offer between now (March 2010) and September.
