"Nose of roasted hazelnuts and strawberries with strong plum overtones. The palate is chocolaty with rich smokiness and mulberry, plum fruits. Ripe but persistent tannins and a silky round texture round off the wine. Will develop with time." International Wine Challenge Judging Panel
Another seriously good Jascots gem along the same lines as Armonio de Mas Neuf and Valserrano 'Finca Monteviejo'. It is of 'the blockbuster' nature so I appreciate that it's not really the perfect lunchtime tipple but this beautifully made, Gold Medal-winning goliath is very complex with multiple layers of spice, cherry, new oak and cedar, black fruits, earth, tar, leather and tobacco. It is an immense achievement and deserves every accolade that has been poured upon it.
La Chamiza
Finca La Chamiza was founded in the year 2003 pursuing excellence in wine making and to implement commercial strategies around the world so as to become closer to consumers.Finca La Chamiza is currently a member of Wines of Argentina with active participation in major fairs such as Vinexpo, London Wine, International Wine Challenge among others. Its main concern is to promote worldwide the category of the Argentine wines. We look into the future, trying to get the best expression of the terroir and transmitting, from Mendoza to the world, one of the most important sports traditions in Argentina: POLOOur winery has a capacity of 2.35M liters, made up by stainless steel tanks with automated temperature control and gas injection INTERTE. We also have French oak barrels as well as American oak barrels, under adequate temperature and humidity control, that enable our oenologists get the unique style of La Chamiza.
The vineyards that give origin to our wines are located in Mendoza, in the districts of Tupungato, Agrelo, Vistalba and Maipu, the third area in importance in the Winkler scale. This diversity of soils and climate gets the best expression of each variety. This great advantage makes it possible to obtain unique wines.Tupungato is 1100 m above sea level, Maipu is 850 m above sea level, Agrelo and Vistalba are 930 m above sea level. The best combination of climate, soils, density of plants and the best vines is essential to get a high quality product.
