Dâo
The Dâo is an important producing region of Northern Portugal, renowned for producing some of the countries finest red wines. Locked in on three sides by high, granitic mountains and sheltered from the Atlantic, the region enjoys long, warm summers and plentiful rainfall during wintertime. Sandy soils are well-drained and vineyards planted with a wealth and myriad of indigenous grape varieties, producing red wines of full-body and intense, concentrated, spicy fruit character.
