Pont de Ferro

Based in Catalonia and the town of Penedes, Pont de Ferro’s Cava is made using the traditional Cava blend of Parellada, Xarel-Lo and Macabeo, from locally sourced grapes grown on calcareous and sandy loam soils – the hot Spanish climate ensures grapes are ripened fully before harvesting by hand and rigorously selected before transferal to the winery.Vinified using the traditional method of sparkling wine production – base wines are fermented separately in stainless steel before being blended by Ferro’s cellarmaster to achieve the house style. The cuvee then undergoes secondary fermentation in bottle and is aged on its lees in order to obtain the yeasty, autolytic note so characteristic of traditional method sparkling wines.
