Weingut Stadt Krems

With over 550 years of history, Weingut Stadt Krems is one of the oldest wine-producers in Austria, if not Europe. They produced wine from 30ha of vineyards, all of which are contained within the town walls of Krems. No wines or grapes have ever been brought in from outside vineyards. Today the estate has grown to 1,000ha of vineyards, all of which belong to the city of Krems and are cultivated by hundreds of small wine-growing estates. Wine is no longer the city's main industry but its crowning glory remains the reputation and quality of their wines.
