Neive
Neive is like a pearl in the middle of the famous vineyards of Langhe and situated east of Barbaresco and between Asti and AlbaThough not originally part of the zone of production of Barbaresco, wines from Neive began to gain recognition already in the 19th century, largely as a result of the efforts of enologist Louis Oudart. In Neive, the soils are composed primarily of calcareous marl with the Nebbiolo grape plantings behind the cultivation of Barbera, Dolcetto and Moscato but this region is known for making some of the most powerful and tannic expressions of Barbaresco and are highly sought after.
