IGP Var
The Var is a region in southern France producing red, rosé and white wines. Most wines are red and rosé , which are produced in comparable quantities, while white wines represent around a mere 5% of production. Many grape varieties are permitted, but commonly rosés and reds are made from one or a combination of Grenache, Cinsault, Mourvedre and Syrah, and possibly a little Cabernet Sauvignon. Rosés are very similar in style to those of nearby Provence and often offer a great value alternative to their more vaunted neighbours.
