Organic September
This Autumn we are celebrating Organic September by donating 10% of our organic wine sales this month to the Soil Association - the UK’s leading membership charity campaigning for healthy, humane and sustainable food, farming and land use.
As an independent wine importer bringing wine into the UK from vineyards around the world, we know that our industry has a large impact on the environment. It is our driving purpose to mitigate the negative effects of our work on the eco-system. This year we will offset the carbon emissions generated by our work for the 10th year, something we don’t shout about enough.
With your help, we can promote more sustainable practices at the source of our wines.
Organic farming is a key initiative in the fight against climate change – it lowers the risk of environmental pollution and reduces greenhouse gas emissions by severely restricting the use of manufactured chemical fertilisers and pesticides. Organic farms are havens for wildlife, providing homes for bees, birds and butterflies. On average, plant, insect and bird life is 50% more abundant on organic farms and are homes to 30% more species of wildlife.
Help us to promote our winemakers who have committed to organic practices in the vineyard by enjoying their wide range of wines and we’ll donate 10% to help the Soil Association further their important work.
Freixenet Copestick Ltd. T/A Jascots Wine Merchants (registered company number 054 656 86) will donate 10% of all retail customer orders of organic and biodynamic wines to The Soil Association Charity (registered charity number 206862 (England and Wales) and no. SCO39168 (Scotland) between the 1st and 30th September 2020 (inclusive).
