Petite Sirah

Petite Sirah is a very distinctive grape variety with small “Petite” dark black berries. Naturally high in tannins and acidity Petite Sirah can age exceptionally well and makes deep, rich and complex wines. Flavours often associated with the wines are blackberry, chocolate and black pepper, in other ways it can be similar to Syrah with blueberry, licorice and menthol notes reminiscent of Australian Shiraz. Petite Sirah originated in France but is now scarcely grown there, It is better suited to drier climates such as California and Australia.
