Tenuta di Aglaea
Originally from Copenhagen, Denmark, Anne-Louise Mikkelsen spent years working with top wine producers in France and Italy before deciding to set up her own winery in Etna, Sicily. She was attracted to this region by the unique terroir, which has volcanic soils which are rich and fertile as a result of Mount Etna's eruptions. The vineyards are located on the north side of Etna, where the climate is relatively cool and there is an abundance of sunshine. She employs biodynamic practices, and strives to produce the best wines that express the varietals and land without the use of chemical fertalizers.
