Bodegas Sendero Royal

Lacrimus Rioja is the brainchild of Javier Rodriquez, one of the new generation of Spanish 'flying winemakers' (though he mostly drives!) in partnership with Bodegas Sendero Royal in the dry, altitudinous vineyards of Rioja Baja.This excellent wine has been barrel fermented in French oak as opposed to the traditional American oak. Nevertheless, Javier has managed to create a modern style Rioja while maintaining the traditional profile of the Riojas we all know so well.Sendero Royal was founded in 1998 by Gonzalo Ruiz Pastor and family, which maintains the artisan tradition of wine making in the Rioja region. The winery, located in Aldeanueva de Ebro, is surrounded by vineyards on a farm of 5 hectares. It has 60 hectares of vineyards with an average age of 25 years.
