Château Langoa-Barton

Château Langoa-Barton first started making wines way back in the early 1700s where the reputation for the Château exceeded the French and European boarders. After being passed down, Anthony Barton, the current owner, born in Ireland, joined his uncle in France in the early 1950’s taking over generations of family history. Today Anthony and his granddaughter, now the tenth generation of Barton in Bordeaux, take every length to strengthen and enhance the quality and reputation of Château Langoa-Barton. There are 45 hectares of Léoville and 15 hectares of Langoa, planted in gravelly soil with a clay sub-soil, include large proportions of old vines in order to obtain the best possible quality. The grape varieties, 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc are the same on both properties as are the methods of vinification.
