Domaine Michel Magnien
Michel Magnien represents the fourth generation of wine growers of the Magnien family, who since 1946 sold grapes from their 4ha of vineyard to the local cooperative. It wasn't until 1993 when Frédéric Magnien, Michel's son, joins the family estate and encouraged his father to start bottling the harvest.Today the biodynamic vineyard covers 18ha across the Côte de Nuits, specifically in the renowned villages of Morey-Saint-Denis, Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny and Vosne Romanee. Frederic continues to follow in his father's footsteps and encourage organic and biodynamic winemaking. Since 2015 the vineyard has been certified by Demeter. Frederic continues to search for ways to develop the wines, ageing them in both wood and terracotta is one of the ways they are refining the uniqueness of the precious wines.
