Domaine Tinel-Blondelet

Six generations of the Blondelet family have upheld the winemaking tradition at Pouilly-sur-Loire, and the estate has been expertly run by Annick Tinel-Blondelet since the 1980s, furthering the estate tradition of producing fine wines from the unique terroirs of the Sancerre and Pouilly appellations respectively, incorporating the most modern techniques while respecting the vines and creating authentic wines.Terroir is made up of a combination of Villiers limestone and  ancient marine deposits of Kimmeridgian marl which combine to give the wines their characteristic mineral streak. Sancerre vineyards in the village of Thauvenay enjoy a south-eastern exposure looking over the Loire river. This area is known as 'Blanc Gateaux' (white cakes) in reference to the pebbly character of the hillside soils, like a multi-layered cake of limestone and flint. Wines are vinified traditionally in thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks and matured on fine lees, adding layers of complexity to this fine Sauvignon Blanc.
