Senorio de Sotillo

In the heart of the Ribera del Duero, Sotillo de la Ribera, is, without doubt, one of the most interesting towns to visit. It is a town of some 636 inhabitants and commands a beautiful coastal landscape complete with rolling vineyards and wineries dating as far back as the 1500s.The town flourished during the reign of King Carlos III, benefiting from an economic boom in the wine industry, and built several of the elegant buildings that remain in the town to this day including the Serrano Palace and the town's magnificent parish church - widely held as one of the finest in the region.Today, Sotillo is still prospering, with 6 wineries, a thriving wine-tourist industry, restaurants and bars and even cheese, black pudding and sausage producers - all perfect to drink with the fabulous local wine!
