Schönburger

Schönburger is a grape variety that was developed at Geisenheim Institute Grape Breeding in Germany through crossing Pinot Noir, Chasselas and Muscat Hamburg, and released in 1979.It is now grown in both Germany and England, where is has gained popularity since the early 2000’s, although it can also be found in the United States. Schönburger flourishes anywhere there is a cool climate, often maritime influenced. This early ripening grape produces a typically soft yet full and fruity white wine.
