Husband and wife Marc Mila and Arantxa de Cara Insensé bought and rejuvenated the 19th century farmhouse at Can Descregut, Alt Penedes in 1990 but it wasn’t until 2005 that they began making their own wine. From the start they have farmed organically, following biodynamic principles and seeking to make wines that express the complexity and elegance of native Catalan varietals with minimal intervention.

They produce vintage Cavas using traditional method, very low residual sugar and no sulphur. The reserve is aged for 24 months minimum whilst the Memoria Gran Reserva has an average of 60 months on lees.Their still wines are some of the most exciting, impressive and delicious examples of the rare Catalan varietals Vermell (white wines) and Sumoll (red wines). Vermell is a red skinned varietal from which Marc and Arantxa make white wines with delicate aromas, crisp minerality and body from lees contact. The 50 year old Sumoll vines produce “Fera Ferotge” a red wine with, at the same time, crunchy red fruit flavours and deep rich spicy notes.
