Cortese
Cortese is a white grape variety found mainly in the Italian region of Piemonte. It is known for producing steely yet elegant dry white wines and appears most often as the DOCG wine known as Gavi. These wines work particularly well when paired with fish dishes such as those found in Genoa and the Ligurian Coast to the south of the region.
