Nerello Macalese

Nerello Macalese is an Italian red grape grown in the Sicilian DOC of Etna that is steadily increasing in popularity. It produces pale wines with savoury red fruit aromas of wild strawberry and sour cherry. Its profile could easily be mistaken for a fine Pinot Noir were it not for their firm tannic structure.
