Ribolla Gialla

Ribolla Giala is a white grape variety native to northeast Italy in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region. The best expression of the grape is found in the Colli Orientali, where the production of high quality white wines is common. Ribolla Gialla is typically deep in colour and takes a part of its name, gialla, from the word meaning yellow.The wines are characterised by their citrus and apple notes and their fresh acidity. The grape is best shown when no oak is used and the fruit is fresh and crisp, displaying a subtle hint of minerality.
