Verdelho

Verdelho is a high-quality white grape variety most commonly associated with fortified wines from the Portuguese Island of Madeira. It has exceptionally high levels of acidity and produces complex and interesting table wines of excellent quality and full-body, often displaying concentrated and tangy citrus flavours, most notably lemon zest and mandarin, amongst others. It has enjoyed notable success in the new-world, particularly Australia and New Zealand.
