Côtes de Bordeaux Blaye

Cote de Bordeaux Blaye overlooks the Gironde estuary on the right bank, where the vineyards have an amazingly rich and varied terroir. Undulating countryside of the interior contrasts heavily with the almost marine aspect of the estuary shore - the Gironde is half-river and half-sea and has had considerable influence on the region’s history. Most vines are grown on the slopes along the estuary, but there are vines on the plain and high plateaus, too. Vines are mostly planted on hills so the vines can enjoy full exposure of the 240 days of sunshine a year guaranteeing a healthy and fully ripe crop - this, combined with the geographical history of the region gives each area their own unique character, which is reflected in the wines.
