Hemel-en-Aarde Valley
Hemel-en-Aarde, translated to “Heaven on Earth”, is one of South Africa’s most beautiful wine regions stretching inland from the coastal town of Hermanus, located South-West of Cape Town. The area’s cool climate and clay-rich, low vigour soil is conducive to producing quality wines. The area’s ability to produce structured, complex Pinot Noir and Chardonnay has also led some to liken it to the Cote d’Or in Burgundy.
