Robertson
The region of Robertson lies in the Breede River Valley region of South Africa. It is a warm region with high levels of sunshine, producing an array of fine white wines, most notably Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, while red wines from Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon also perform well. Most vineyards fringe the Breede River, which provides not only alluvial soils ideal for the cultivation of vines, but vitally, plentiful water for irrigation, crucial in the hot dry climate.
