South East Australia
South East Australia is a large zone encompassing the wine-growing regions of South Australia, New South Wales and Victoria, Australia's three most important wine-making regions. Here the climate is hot and dry, and viticulture relies heavily on irrigation from river waters. Grapes for white and red wins include Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, and Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot respectively.
