Bergerac
Bergerac lies in south-west France, just beneath the southernmost tip of Bordeaux. The region produces red wine and both dry and sweet white wines in a similar style to that of its neighbour. Red wines are commonly Bordeaux style blends, while white wines are made in the dry style from Sauvignon Blanc and the sweet wines of Monbazillac mirror those of the more famous Bordeaux appellation of Sauternes. The climate is marginal between continental and maritime and soils vary between alluvial silt, to clay, and to a lesser extent, limestone.
