Coonawara
The Coonawarra region is a long and narrow strip of land 400 kilometres south-east of Adelaide. Famous for its distinctive rust coloured terra rossa soil, the climate here is cooler due to the influence of cold currents from the Antartic allowing for a long, mild growing season. Recognised as one of Australia's premium red wine regions it has long established itself for producing premium Cabernets with concentrated flavour and distinctive characteristics of cassis and eucalyptus.
