St Joseph 'Poivre et Sol', Francois Villard, Rhone Valley, France 2021
Northern Rhone, France
Tasting Notes
Francois Villard St Joseph Poivre et Sol 2021. A blend from several steep vineyards rooted in decomposed granite and quartz soils, this wine opens with a lively nose of smoky, spicy dark berries and hints of liquorice. The palate reveals subtly sweet blackberry and cherry flavors, vibrant and energetic, finishing with floral notes and gentle tannins. Crafted with 80% whole clusters and aged for 15 months in 2-4 year old French oak barrels, it combines depth, elegance, and complexity.
