Jaraman Chardonnay, Wakefield Wines, Adelaide Hills, Australia 2021

Adelaide Hills, Australia

Tasting Notes

Wakefield Wines Jaraman Chardonnay 2021. Pale straw in the glass with a gently youthful green edge, this Chardonnay is greeted with lifted aromas of melon, lime, and white peach, seamlessly interwoven with more exotic notes of green pineapple and guava. A delicate hint of flint and cedar weaves through, adding complexity and echoing the cool climate origins. On the palate, it delivers bright citrus fruits and fresh figs, balanced by crisp mineral acidity and a touch of zesty lemon. The texture is soft and refined, mid-weight in body yet elegantly structured, with subtly integrated oak that lends gentle toastiness and length without overwhelming the fruit. At the same time, the cooler Adelaide Hills component provides restrained fruit character and that signature mineral snap. The result is a sophisticated balance that is vibrant and plush yet poised and refreshing.
