Heritage du Pic Saint Loup, Sainte Agnes Blanc, Languedoc-Roussillon, France 2022

France

HERSAGNESBLANC22

Tasting Notes

Heritage du Pic Saint-Loup Sainte Agnes Blanc 2022. This is the sole white cuvée of the estate, produced in tiny quantities and always in high demand. This wine captures the essence of the Languedoc with its smooth, round southern texture and expressive aromatics of verbena, herbs, and white fruits. Crafted from a blend of 50% Roussanne, 30% Clairette, 10% Marsanne, and 10% Grenache Blanc, the grapes come from vines aged 15 to 80 years rooted in clay, limestone, and dolomite soils. Fermented and aged in foudres and demi-muids for 10 months, then matured for 12 months.

Roussanne

Roussanne is named for its russet-coloured skin. A tricky variety to cultivate, resulting in lower yields, it produces aromatic wines with bright fruit and floral characteristics. Though originating in the Rhône Valley where it is used in many of the regional blends, it is now being planted around the world. Read More
