Tasting Notes
Roche Costamagna Langhe Nebbiolo 2023. This wine is steeped in history and embodies the significance of Rocche Costamagna. Around 15 years ago, the Nebbiolo was produced at higher altitudes, around 400 metres higher in La Morra, where Nebbiolo flourishes. The estate crafts approximately 30,000 bottles annually, and demand has been steadily growing. Aromas of wild berries and florals lead the nose, followed by a palate framed by delicate tannins. With zero residual sugar, the wine is fermented in stainless steel for roughly ten days, then partially aged in oak barrels. This vintage is softer than many Nebbiolos, making it more approachable, yet structured enough to age gracefully for 15 years.
