Domaine Derame, Muscadet Vieilles Vignes, Sevre et Maine, France 2018
Loire, France

Tasting Notes
Derame Muscadet Vieilles Vignes 2018. Alexandre Derame's Vieilles Vignes comes from extremely low yield 35-year plus vines grown on grabbo soils. The wine is aged for at least three years before release as this allows the wine to soften and open. This is an intense, linear and expressive Muscadet with bright flavours of green apple, oyster shell minerality, lemon zest and digestive biscuit notes from lees strirring. A tense nervosity with great complexity and challenges Muscadet's reputation (in the best way!) as an easy-going wine to be enjoyed young.

Melon de Bourgogne
Melon de Bourgogne, is a white grape varietal grown in the western Loire Valley. It is best known as Muscadet where it makes light, dry and refreshing white wines with characteristic green apple and citrus fruit flavours. Extra richness is often given by the Sur Lie method which involves aging the wines on its lees to add a touch of roundness. Read More
