Laithwaites wine retail is a household name in England. Founder Tony Laithwaite's son, Henry, is now making his own mark on the wine industry with the founding of Harrow & Hope. With years of experience working on vineyards around the world, Henry and his wife Kaye returned to find the perfect site to start their own business. They found the ideal location in the rolling Chiltern Hills near Marlow where water once flowed 450,000 years ago and left behind steep slopes with large deposits of flint gravel, mixed into thick orange clay lying on top of the chalk- an ideal terroir for producing wine. Their attention to detail and dedication to expressing the "Thames Terroir" have resulted in sparkling wines that have earned them critical acclaim both at home and internationally.
